In my interpretation of Rapunzel, I imagined a world where someone had tried to steal her magic hair by taking her scalp off with it. Rapunzel, being as domestic as she is, is proficient in textiles so would then attempt to stich her scalp back onto her head.

Here I have used a lot of SFX makeup to create the look, which included threading a real needle through the latex on the models head. She is wearing a wig in order for me to pour some watered down fake blood into the hair to show where it has been pulled of her head.

When posing, I got my model to do place her hands of her head and act as if she was trying to keep her scalped head on. The facial expressions were less of pain or despair and more numbness as if she has endured he pain for so long she has become immune to it. This seems to make her seem hostile and unnerving.
