ABOUT ME
Assistant Director . Production. Director .
I'm Robyn, a practiced AD (assistant director), Director, and Producer. I started in the film industry at the age of 4 where I became a child actor, through this I discovered my love for all things film production (and most especially the on set atmosphere). As I got older I realised that I wanted to be behind the camera, and less in front, and so I chose to study Film Production at Arts University Bournemouth where I took up a specialism in 'Producing'. This subject encompassed: cast directing, producing, assistant directing and production coordination. Out of these, I particularly honed in on AD work, having 1st AD-ed a large number of the films I worked on. For me, it is the perfect balance of preproduction and on-set work. From my experiences at university, I have had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects with a wide range of budgets, from digital to film, fiction to advertising, or small scale to big graduation films.
As a person I love to keep myself busy, whether that be with work or my own personal projects. I love to have something on the go, which is why I managed to be a part of so many projects during my short time at university. I'm an energetic person that takes on tasks and projects with enthusiasm but also have a strong sense of systematic diligence and methodical organisation. I'm good at staying professional whilst also instilling a sense of enjoyment when working, and maintain a lot of strong, positive, connections with my previous colleges.
At the end of my time at university, I was lucky enough to get chosen as one of my cohort's graduation writer/directors and raised a budget of around 11K for my graduation film 'Miss Canton'. From pitch to project, I oversaw and spearheaded the creation of this large project.
